When we share each other’s journey through life, we share in each other’s joys and hardships. We come alongside of people in need with compassion and respect. We nurture hope, provide healing and the understanding that they are not alone or forgotten. We serve all people regardless of race, gender, religion or nationality. We believe every person is worthy of the highest respect and dignity.
Sharing The Journey International has been organized to provide humanitarian aid in the form of food, clothing, medical and dental services and other services of assistance to those suffering throughout the world. Our mission is guided by five core values: volunteerism, accountability, optimizing resources, relationships, and maintaining an infrastructure of integrity.
My experience with STJI was above and beyond my best expectations. I was very impressed with the organization that went into executing a trip of this magnitude. Even though it was their first visit to this hospital we were able to get set up and running amazingly fast leaving more time to serve the great patients of Guatemala. The atmosphere STJI cultivates was a joy to work in and I will gladly return for many more trips in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience.”Dr. William Curtis
I feel fortunate to be involved with the STJI team. The philosophy of the group is to bring uncompromised care to patients, their families and communities in a similar fashion to that provided in the US. Their level of organization and planning is impressive and was showcased during the most recent surgical trip to Guatemala in April of 2013. I am proud to be part of their organization and am looking forward to many more trips in the future.”Dr. Mike Jaskolka
STJI is not just an ambassador of goodwill, it is an avenue of change and restoration. They are restorers of value, worth, purpose and dignity. Their work brings unity and partnership at government levels, blessings along the dirt path, and hope for a nation in desperation of being noticed and valued. In turn, STJI remains marked and moved by the preciousness of human life, gratitude, and miracles they get to behold and author.”Cheryl Ensinger, RN
